Tugs are specialized vehicles ranging in size from 24 meters to 30 meters or more depending upon the requirements for tasks they may need to perform.

Generally Tugs are used for moving other craft and objects around that may not have their own propulsion system or for maneuvering in situations where fine movement might be required but cannot be achieved by larger craft. Tugs are also utilized for recovering damaged craft in remote locations for either salvage or repair at appropriate facilities. Tugs generally are not interstellar-flight capable and tend to operate within the boundaries of a singular system, however there always are exceptions to this norm.
