Transports are a specialized classification of ship that come in a variety of sizes ranging from 200 meters to over 300 meters depending on their role and configuration.

Designed for the sole purpose of moving living beings from one place to the other safely and comfortably, transports are rather large in size and can be either luxurious for the civilian Cruise-liners, or efficient and quite spartan for the military transports. Made to cover interstellar distances, such craft are never really utilized for interplanetary travel alone. Transports are almost always equipped with a compliment of their own support craft, including lifters for moving small amounts of cargo that they may carry on their long journeys. The vessels are usually only lightly armed, and where necessary depend on escorts to get them safely through to their destination when crossing unsafe volumes of space.
