Merchant Vessels are decent sized ships usually ranging in the size of 150 meters to around 200 meters, some variants might be slightly larger, but rarely ever exceed 240 meters in this classification.

Merchant ships as the name suggests are primarily bulk cargo and material carriers with the majority of their space dedicated towards this function. Fitted with Interstellar drive systems for moving between systems, rarely will you see any ship of this classification relegated to interplanetary travel only. Merchants are always outfitted with a compliment of Lifters for moving cargo to and from the vessel, which is generally more efficient and cost effective than making planet-fall, or complex docking maneuvers with orbital facilities. Usually lightly armed, for defensive purposes, most Merchant class vessels are still vulnerable to craft specifically designed for combat.
