Starship Design Project:Dreadnought

Dreadnoughts are a classification of warship similar to battleships and are often found to be in the 260 to 300 meter range in length.

Like their Battleship cousins, dreadnoughts are heavily armed and heavily armored behemoths. Characteristically designed to mount the heaviest weapons available like battleships, however dreadnoughts tend either have more of these weapons mounted, or longer range or even experimental versions of weapons in their repertoire. Often heavily armored as well with additional redundant systems to ensure the survivability of the vessel, and to deal out damage on a massive scale. Designed for long-term, long-range operations, this classification can be often found operating independently without constant support.
