Cruisers are sizable warships found to be within 180 meters to 230 meters in size, however this can vary dependent upon many factors such as when they were built and for what purpose.

Usually the pinnacle of the fleets for those whom cannot afford much larger constructs in any sufficient quantity. Cruisers are highly self sufficient craft, often found operating without support in hostile territory for extended lengths of time, often assaulting enemy supply lines or going after high valued targets. Cruisers are heavily armed with an array of long range stand-off weaponry intended to overwhelm and destroy hostile targets, as well as an array of defensive measures insuring survivability against many would be attackers. Many cruisers also are fitted with a small hangar bay for carrying a couple of auxiliary craft to aid in their missions.

It is typical that this classification is outfitted with the best available propulsion systems to serve them in their long duration interstellar flights, sometimes with limited capability to resupply themselves with reactant material when the mission demands such.
