Carriers are quite large special purpose ships generally falling into the range of 300 to 380 meters in length and is not uncommon for ships in this classification to exceed 400 meters.

Specifically designed to carry, launch, recover, and support smaller craft afield, carriers, are a formidable asset to any fleet, capable of projecting a considerable amount of force quickly deeply into hostile territory. Usually carrying several dozen smaller craft, the carriers themselves are only lightly armed and moderately armored to protect those craft under their care. Usually reliant upon escort ships/craft as well as it's own compliment of offensive/defensive craft to protect it through most situations. Carriers are almost always capable of long endurance missions and traveling very far without additional support.
