Starship Design Project:Battleship

Battleships are the premiere warship classification in most fleets, and are typically between 220 to 280 meters in length.

Outfitted with a battery of the heaviest classification of weaponry available, these vessels represent a true projection of power for any authority operating them. Capable of bringing to bear sudden and overwhelming amounts of firepower in a concentrated manner is cause for concern for anyone on the receiving end of things. Although as heavily armored as they are armed battleships can still be overwhelmed by large numbers of smaller and cheaper craft and thusly are the centerpieces of fleets consisting of destroyers and frigates to protect them from alternative threats. These craft are almost always capable of interstellar flight, but not usually designed for long endurance missions, and require lines of support when operating deep within hostile territories.
